Volunteer Opportunities

Mobile Adoptions: Since HPPL does not operate a shelter, placement of HPPL foster animals into permanent homes is done through our mobile adoption programs. Each Saturday volunteers are needed at the Willowchase PetsMart at FM 1960 and FM 249 and the Webster PetsMart on Bay Area Blvd. HPPL is also at Petco on Westheimer/Voss on the first and third Saturday of the month. Volunteers walk the dogs, maintain the cleanliness of the site, and talk with people who are considering an adoption. It is very rewarding to see these dogs and cats going to their new-homes.

Foster Care: If you've got extra room in your home and your heart, consider providing a temporary home for one of the many stray and abandoned dogs and cats that HPPL helps each year. HPPL provides all the veterinary care and eventual placement into a permanent home, while the foster home contributes shelter, food, transportation to the adoption site on Saturdays and, most importantly, an abundance of love for these discarded animals.

Publicity: If you like meeting and talking with people, consider working the booths HPPL staffs at various events in the community throughout the year. In addition, the Publicity Committee is always looking for new and creative ways to increase the publics awareness of HPPL.

Fundraising: As with any non-profit organization, lack of resources is always an issue. HPPL holds several fundraisers every year including garage sales, bake sales, and our annual birthday party in May. Volunteers are needed to help organize these events to make them a huge success. Plus new ideas for events are always welcome.

Whatever your talents or interests, we hope you get involved with HPPL.
Together we can make a difference!
